Mais Robinson is a researcher, producer and theatre facilitator based in London.
Currently working across political and pedagogical theatre projects, they are particularly interested in combining historical and contemporary traditions to meet current political contexts in the UK.
Their producing work platforms thematically linked events, to contribute to a reinvigoration of the UK’s political performance scene (which they take a broad definition of, including movement, theatre, poetry, drag, cabaret etc.).
They are currently a practice-based PhD student at Goldsmiths, their thesis title is: Playing the picket: Exploring Theatre Techniques to Support Worker Organising in the UK Hospitality Sector.
Their activism takes them across multiple avenues and they embrace the variety of this work as recognition of the interconnectedness of multiple sites of struggle. Recently, this has taken them to spaces that focus on trade unionism, mad liberation and community solidarity building.
Below are some images from a broad scope of projects that Mais has been involved in.
